Winter at « les Renards » is a paradise for dears,, hares and, of course, winter sports. Thyon-région is a very popular ski resort for families looking for smoother yet still challenging ski trails. Sharing a 3/8 of Fendant or other Valais area wines with the « Bacounis » (nickname for Vex inhabitants) or other regional hosts on the patio will make your days. Should you prefer cross-country skiing or snowshoeing you will appreciate the trails in Evolène, following the logging roads over St-Martin, Mase or Vermamiège or exploring the Pralong region in the « Val des Dix ».
The Valère theater in Sion, the Thyon 2000 swimming pool at Lavey les Bains / Ovronnaz or discovering the Aquaparc in Bouveret will give you a pleasant change after hard skiing days.
A gourmet meal at « la Cambuse aux Collons 1900 » or at the «Argilly» in Vex will improve your mood at the end of your holidays in Christmas time. Unless you prefer a half and half fondue or a good old pizza.
